​Working closely with our acquisitions team, Michelle helps facilitate the acquisition of wines for our clients throughout the world. She brings to the team her experience in wine sales, international distribution and operations management. Michelle holds certification from the International Wine Guild as a Certified Wine Sommelier and graduated with her degree in Marketing from the University of South Alabama.

Michael co-founded Intervine in 1991 with Colleen May. A proven industry leader, he brings over 20 years of experience in wine selection, logistics and distribution programs tailored specifically for domestic and international airlines.

Michael leads Intervine’s credentialed wine tasting team that tests and scores thousands of wines and serves as an official judge at wine competitions.

Jonjie Lockman

As Chief Operating Officer, Jonjie manages and directs all wine acquisitions, supply chain, operations, finance, accounting, IT, and human resources activities.
Jonjie is a Certified Specialist of Wine and the National President of Women for WineSense. She is a former board member of the
American Wine Society’s Napa chapter.
Before joining Intervine she served as a Vice President for Turner Broadcasting and CNN where she specialized in process management and acquisition integrations.  Jonjie has also held finance and accounting roles at Turner as well as Coleman Research and Wells Fargo.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree from North Carolina
State University and an MBA as well as a Master’s of Science in Operations Management from Georgia State University.  She is a former international
board member of the Association of Business Process
Management Professionals.

Senior Accountant
Neelam Chohan
Neelam ‘s responsibilities reach far and wide throughout our entire business. They include accounts payable/receivable, financial reports, sales forecasts, HR, and compliance just to name a few. Before joining us, she had over 20 years of finance experience through her previous high level positions in the software and consumer goods channels.

Born in India and educated in London, England where she lived for 20 years, Neelam brings a valued addition to Intervine’s global partnerships. When she is not
caring for her two daughters and two dogs, she is continuing her wine education
in night courses at Napa Valley College.

Director of Logistics, Distribution, and IT
Heather Dodge
Heather provides logistics and distribution services for our clients. She joined Intervine from California Wine Transport where she was a Consolidation Account Manager. A graduate of Pacific Union College with a B.S. degree in Management, she has also worked for major suppliers including the Robert Mondavi Winery.

Heather brings to Intervine an extraordinary ability to anticipate changes in usage and distribution patterns. As such, she has proven to be a valuable resource for our customers and is often commended by them for her extraordinary focus on customer service.

Eric Achenbach

Eric leads Intervine’s cruise line wine sales out of our South Florida office.  A Miami native, Eric has deep roots in wine and beverage sales as well as the culinary arts.  He has held previous positions with Carisam and ABC Fine Wines and Spirits where he was a Wine Consultant and taught staff wine classes.
A graduate of Johnson and Wales University, Eric has earned a Bachelor of Arts in the Culinary Arts and has received the United States Sommelier Association’s Advanced Level Certification and the European Sommelier Certification

Guillaume Hoog

Guillaume leads our airline sales operations in Asia which include serving customers in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and other countries. He also provides strategic and innovative marketing support that helps deliver the products and services our customers need and value.

Born and raised in France, he moved to California with an irrepressible enthusiasm for wines of the world. Before joining Intervine, Guillaume served as the Export Manager for a premium chocolate company in Alsace, France. He received a Business Degree in International Business at the Institut Universitaire Technologique UHA in Colmar France and the Institut de Management Europeen des Affaires in Besancon, France. He has also studied International Business, Consumer Behavior and Diversity Management at the University of Southern Denmark in Esbjerg.

Shany Cruz
Working closely with strategic winery partners from around the world, Shany leads our global wine acquisition team. She joined Intervine in 2001 after a successful career as a buyer for Continental Airlines in Micronesia and a purchasing agent for a major fashion retail chain in Southern California.

Her daily contact with many of the world’s most prominent wineries ensures that our clients are receiving the greatest value and quality wines that meet their unique needs. She has completed studies at the Culinary Institute of America under Karen MacNeil and John Buechsenstein as well as earned the Wine and Spirits Education Trust Intermediate Credentials.

Director, Old World Wine Acquisitions
Elizabeth Grubel
As the Director of Old World Wine Acquisitions, Elizabeth focuses on the sourcing of wines from Europe. She has worked in the wine industry for over 15 years where she has been involved in multiple facets of the business. Elizabeth’s career has included serving as the Buyer for the Wine Spectrum, the Director of Wine Buying at Vinfolio, and the management of all operational aspects of Dee Vine Wines for nearly a decade as well as at several wineries throughout the Napa Valley.

She is a graduate of Emory University in Atlanta with degrees in International Relations and French Literature. She has also studied in the Rhône Valley and at the Université de Montpellier III. Elizabeth is a certified French Wine Scholar.

April Crawford

April recently transitioned from a long tenure in Logistics to her current role in Accounting. Her many responsibilities include accounts payable/receivable and general accounting.

​April has been a star at Intervine since joining us in 2006 following a staff position in accounts at Safeway’s corporate headquarters. She is pursuing her business degree in evening studies at Napa Valley College.

Summer brings a creative outlook to Intervine’s marketing and sales activities.
With experience at a major Pharmaceutical corporation and, most recently,
Treasury Wine Estates she is well versed in global brand strategies and
large scale marketing operations. In addition to her marketing positions,
she is a Certified Green Building Professional with experience as an interior
designer and project coordinator for a prominent Napa Valley design/build firm.

After attending the University of California, Santa Barbara with a major in Liberal Arts, Summer pursued her artistic passions and obtained an Associate’s degree in Interior Design from California Academy of Design.

Colleen May

Colleen co-founded Intervine in 1991 with Michael Borck. Prior to starting Intervine, she
was a founding partner in two airline service companies beginning in 1983 that provided inflight service items including amenity kits, inflight duty free programs, and wine to the airline industry worldwide. Each of these companies has been recognized in its field for developing innovative strategies and programs that are now standard practice in the travel industry. In conjunction with her work at Intervine, Colleen serves as a judge at international wine competitions throughout the year.

Colleen sits on the Board of Directors of The Resource Foundation in New York City,
which supports local nonprofit agencies in Latin America, the Caribbean and more
than 25 countries. She is a founding donor and committed supporter of Escuela Agroecologica de Pirque in Chile, an agro-ecological school for at-risk high school
students. Colleen has a Master of Arts Degree in English and American
Literature from New York University.
Wayne Batwin

Consulting Vice President, Business Development for Greater China
Wayne leads Intervine’s efforts to continue developing new distribution channels in China. Prior to joining Intervine as a consultant, Wayne was the Director of the U.S. Agricultural Trade Office in Shanghai, China from 2006 to 2010. His responsibilities included establishing relationships and markets with importers, distributors, food service operations and retailers in China’s wealthiest regions.

Before moving to China, Wayne lived in the Washington, DC area, where
he held several senior positions involved in international business and
trade policy. He has more than 30 years of experience in the international
food and beverage area, including establishing importing, sales and
distribution networks in the U.S. and overseas markets. He has a
Bachelor and Master’s Degree from the University of California, Berkeley.

Ed Matovcik
Ed directs and manages Intervine's operations and strategic focus.

Before joining Intervine, Ed was a Vice President with Beringer Vineyards and Foster’s
Wine Estates which is the second largest wine producer in the world. He has served on
the Board of Directors of the California Wine Institute and other prestigious trade
organizations including the Napa Valley Vintners Association.

He earned his MBA from Columbia University in New York and has studied
international business and brand management at the London Business School and
Humboldt University in Berlin. Prior to entering the wine industry, Ed served as
a Chief of Staff in the United States Congress for 16 years.

Lizann Grupalo
Lizann leads our airline sales operations in North America and Europe. She is also integral to developing new airline partnerships and providing comprehensive program solutions to our valued customers.
Her career spans over 15 years in the wine industry where she has served in escalating sales management positions for Terlato Estate Wines, Robert Mondavi Winery and The Wine Alliance. She is a graduate of Santa Clara University with degrees in Italian and Spanish and holds an MBA in International Business from the Monterey Institute of International Studies with an emphasis in German. Lizann is also Level 2 certified with Wine & Spirit Education Trust of London.

Jonathan Williams

​Jonathan provides the support for the logistics and distribution services to our clients. He got his start in the wine industry providing unforgettable experiences for visitors of Napa and Sonoma Valley for over six years. After a brief period as an Ecommerce Product Manager for a toy company, we’re ecstatic he’s found his way back to wine via Intervine. 

Jonathan is one of the lucky few who got into wine at an early age. After completing numerous courses in winemaking at Napa Valley College, he went on to complete a Bachelor’s in Chemistry and MBA with a specialization in Wine at Sonoma State University by the age of 22. His studies outside the traditional university system include being a Certified Sommelier, WSET Diploma student and Certified Beer Server

Inventory Coordinator

Dave Grundell

​Dave is a key member of our Operations Team. With an experienced background in Supply Chain Management, he is responsible for processing all incoming and outgoing wine samples. Dave holds several certifications and coordinates all activities with our international delivery services.
